A mobile veterinary physiotherapy service for your animal operating in the Midlands across Staffordshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire. Offering a variety of services and treatments including INDIBA therapy.

Meet Emily.

Emily has had animals her whole life and has competed and worked with horses in various different equestrian disciplines. Her main interest with her own horses is showjumping, she is therefore knowledgeable of the different demands placed on performance horses. Emily first realized her passion for physiotherapy after observing its benefits first hand on one of her own horses when he suffered a severe injury which required extensive rehabilitation. Furthermore, while on work experience Emily was inspired by the amazing results collaboration between physiotherapists and vets achieved in returning dogs who had suffered from neurological disorders to their previous quality of life. Following these experiences Emily was inspired to pursue a career in veterinary physiotherapy. She studied for three years at undergraduate level in order to become a level 6 qualified Veterinary Physiotherapist and a member of the regulatory body NAVP.

Physiotherapy works to improve musculoskeletal function and health through a holistic and multimodal treatment approach. We aim to ensure every animal is able to perform at their best and have the highest quality of life possible from top performance animals through to beloved pets.

How we Work

Libertas Veterinary Physiotherapy strives to work together with the client and their owner using a compassionate professional approach to provide the best possible treatment for each unique animal. We also aim to work together alongside a wider multidisciplinary team in order to provide the most effective rehabilitation possible.

I can’t thank Emily enough for all the help she gave us with our Neapolitan Mastiff. He had an operation to remove a mass compressing his spinal cord at the base of his brain/ top of his neck (craniocervical junction) which was causing him to trip and fall. The surgeon had never seen or heard of anything like it before in a dog, so it was quite unique. Oscar remained at the veterinary hospital for 10 days before he came home, and although the surgeon was hopeful he would walk again when Oscar arrived home he could only lift his head.

I contacted Emily and within a day of Oscar coming home she came to give us an initial consultation. We were so pleased when she agreed to help him.

Emily was great, she emailed us after every visit with notes on the exercises she had shown us to do with him, and was always on the end of the phone. After 3 weeks of intensive physiotherapy Oscar had enough strength to stand up on his own for the first time to great Emily at the door. She was just fantastic with him, so patient… he just loved her. I would have no qualms about recommending Emily to anyone… We are so grateful to her for managing to get Oscar back on his feet/ paws!!
